This year marks the 50th year anniversary of Comic book sensation Doraemon, and to celebrate, Japan Post is releasing a series of special greeting card stamps.
It was announced in 2016 by Japan Post that Doraemon was to become a stamp design, and they are now set to be released on the 20th of May 2020. During the wait for the release, the stamp designs have become a hot topic on the internet with many fans expressing how they can’t wait to get their hands on them and debating over what they think the final designs will look like.

These 84 YEN Doraemon stamps are sure to fill the hearts of any loyal fan with nostalgia. Using specially selected illustrations from the original comic book which was released in the 1970s, the stamps bring retro colours and patterns back to life.

As for the 63 YEN stamps, they have been designed with the theme of “travel” in mind, and show Doraemon as he sets off exploring different parts of Japan. These special edition stamps were illustrated by manga artist Mugiwara Shintaro and come with a perforated edge that makes them easy to fold up, put in your pocket and carry with you.
