Our world is changing.
Recently, the speed at which the planet is undergoing environmental and social changes has become increasingly rapid. In particular we have begun to see immense changes happen to ecosystems around the world due to climate change and global warming, and we can no longer try to ignore the problems this poses for the future of our planet. Changes that were once invisible to us, are now a serious threat to our daily lives and wellbeing.
Plastic pollution, air pollution and natural disasters are now a very real problem, and we are the only ones who can do something about it, lest we lose our future.
Now that the world is experiencing changes on a global level, it is our mission to proactively tackle these issues in order to provide a safe and sustainable society for our future generations.
WWF Japan is holding a special event open to the public on the 6th floor of the Daimaru Matsuzakaya Ueno store that highlights the threat of global warming to our beautiful planet. Taking place from the 9th to the 14th September, the event will showcase a number of photographs which focus on coexisting with nature and creating a sustainable society. The exhibit will include a range of powerful imagery featuring landscapes, wildlife, and the effects global warming is having on our world.
The exhibition will showcase more than 80 different panels of photography. Explanations will be included about global warming, climate change, marine plastic problems that we are facing and how we can overcome them together.
Our Planet – a special videography production that captures the true beauty and strength of nature – will also be on display at the event.
Additionally, the event will include a panel displaying the award winning works from the Canon Photography Contest from 2017 to 2019, which focuses on the theme of “An environment I want to leave for the future”.
In addition to the photography exhibit, the event will include the PANDA SHOP which will be selling items to support WWF. Donations can also be taken at the event to go towards the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) in support of slowing down and stopping global warming.
