Floresta Doughnuts is a chain which started in Nara prefecture and specialises in organic doughnuts. The shop became known for their adorable animal shaped doughnuts, and thanks to their popularity, Floresta can now be found throughout Japan.
But just when you thought their creature creations couldn’t get any cuter, they started teaming up with one of the leading companies in kawaii, Sanrio. The creators of Hello Kitty and Gudetama have lent the likeness of several of their characters to Floresta doughnuts, including My Melody and Cinnamoroll.
One of Sanrio's stars, Keroppi's has appeared before at Floresta, but in this latest announcement he’s joined by his whole family. Each of the froggy features have been made with a matcha chocolate coating, including Keroppi himself, his mother, and his father.
On top of the character theme, these treats also have a seasonal twist. The classic Floresta organic doughnut base has been glazed with chocolate and has a cafe latte flavoured chocolate flourish, and a crushed organic almond topping inspired by late autumn’s fallen leaves and bare branches.
Each handmade doughnut costs 450 yen (plus tax), and they will go on sale from 14th November until 30th November in select Floresta stores (list can be found here). If you’re not lucky enough to live near one of these blessed locations, the whole tasty gang can be ordered from Floresta’s online store.
