Spring is the season of warmer weather and plants blooming back to life, but most importantly, in Japan, spring is the season of cherry blossoms.
While the coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult to gather outside for Japan’s yearly tradition of ‘hanami’ or flower viewing, stores and restaurants in Japan have continued to take this season as an opportunity to release products that imitate the cherry blossom’s beautiful pink flowers.
One of these seasonal products is simple but can be a great way to add a touch of spring to drinks or meals. The Sakurairo Marshmallows, or ‘cherry blossom-colored marshmallows’, are shaped just like cherry blossom petals and they come in pink and white variations.
