The opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics will be held in just a few hours (at the time of writing) at 8:00 p.m. on July 23, 2021.

At around 1:00 p.m. today, Japan's Air Self-Defense Force's Blue Impulse aerobatic flight team performed in downtown Tokyo to commemorate the event.

Arriving near the National Stadium in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, the formation of six fighter jets skywrote the famous Olympic logo of intertwining rings with blue, yellow, black, green, and red colored smoke.

Here's a clip of the Blue Impulse over the skies of Hibiya in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward!

The Blue Impulse pilots flew their jets across the azure skies, demonstrating impressive orchestration skills.

In the past, the Blue Impulse has performed at various ceremonies and executed their outstanding aerobatic maneuvers to express gratitude to medical personnel on the front lines of the fight against the novel coronavirus.

Many people are worried about the Tokyo Olympics because they are being held in the midst of the pandemic. Nevertheless, the impressive performance of the Blue Impulse surely brought smiles to the faces of those who saw it.
