On the night of October 7, 2021, a strong earthquake struck the Tokyo metropolitan area with a magnitude of 5.9. It was the strongest quake to hit the region since the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster in 2011.
In the wake of the earthquake, train operations were suspended in the Tokyo metropolitan area, making it difficult for many people to return home.
The area around stations overflowed with people waiting for the trains to resume operations, and in some cases, people were forced to take unusual means and routes to get home.
Twitter user Koba (@taiyakiumaissu), who works at the famous 8-story Mandarake Complex hobby shop in Akihabara, was one of those affected by the earthquake.
After much trouble, they finally made it home four hours later than usual.
They were understandably exhausted, but what greeted them at home was...
