“Are you a messenger of the gods?”: Japanese photog’s mysterious shot of a shrine at night
This is Hikawa Shrine in Kawagoe, Saitama. It is a shrine for the god of marriage with a history of over 1,500 years. Available this summer, these marriage wind chimes are as magical as having a dream. It feels like your dreams just might come true here.
888 wind chimes are strung up, filled with the feelings of prosperity from the character "八" (eight), which resembles a spread fan. Visitors can write their wishes on tanzaku (strips of paper) and tie them up.
The evening is magical... And the afternoon offers a summery, refreshing sight too.
Projection mapping makes the ground shine like the Milky Way. Truly like a dream.
