A video was posted by Nakagawa san on the twitter account @toythefishing and it became a hot topic right away.
The video showed us a very rare sight of two oarfishes (in Japanese “Ryugu no Tsukai”), a fish that is believed to be a messenger of the Umi no Kami (sea god).
It is also believed that these deep-sea types of fishes might bring up a warning when they come near the surface as they can feel the movements of the Earth or earthquakes that might be following.
The two Ryugu no Tsukai were spotted swimming side by side by Nakagawa san who didn’t miss the opportunity and took a video that was later posted on his Twitter account.
The rare sight of these graceful fishes swimming harmoniously by each other made the video viral and had thousands of retweets, likes, and comments
According to the Huffingtonpost Website, the fish was first spotted in the fishing port of Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture.
Two employees of Aichi Prefecture, Kasugai City, Tabira Koji and his wife, Kotome, were fishing in the Echizen City when this happened and managed to take some pictures and videos of the fishes.
They gave the shots to the Echizen Matsushima Aquarium in Sakai, Fukui Prefecture so more people can enjoy the sight of these beautiful creatures swimming slowly and elegant in the deep blue sea.
It is such a rare and valuable experience to see not one, but two Ryugu no Tsukai!
Two deep-sea creatures’ side by side creates a fantastic picture that is probably the first time such a wonderful thing has happened.
