Little gremlins are a different breed. While hyperactive at times—especially with sugar in their system—they are capable of surprisingly deep introspection. At particularly cogent times, they understand the underlying causes of their feelings and when Mom or Dad need a break.
Manga artist Masami Kawaguchi ( kawaguchi_game) had such a story. During her family's bedtime ritual, her second-grader told her some surprising news. Nevertheless, her son's reaction to the incident was inspiring, especially for such a young person.

It's certainly hard to sit by while a child cries over such a situation. But his unshakeable outlook on life is inspiring. It seems like he knows how to keep his chin up.
