With less than a week left before the newest installation to the Crash Bandicoot game series, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, there have been continuous updates and promotions released by the developers to entice people to play.

The upcoming game will be the eighth main installment in the series, with the story serving as a sequel to 1998’s Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Aside from the titular character, It’s About Time will also see the return of other characters entwined in Crash’s adventures, like his sister Coco, and their long-running archenemy, Doctor Neo Cortex.

In Japan, the bright orange marsupial has gained a significant following over the years. The early Crash Bandicoot games became the highest-selling Western game in Japan. There was even a short-lived manga series inspired by Crash and Japanese audiences were exposed to this commercial promoting the game, which can only be described as an interesting portrayal of the character. The video was made accessible in the Japanese version of Crash Bandicoot 2 by pressing a certain sequence of buttons.

For the promotion of It's About Time in Japan (renamed to "Crash Bandicoot 4: Unexpected Multiverse" in Japanese), the wacky commercial from the 90's gets a 2020 remake. This time, Crash, well, crashes into the home of a Japanese family eating apples, perhaps lured in by his favorite fruit. The video then leads to a montage of him and the family dancing the same dance routine from the earlier commercial across different locations in Japan, and you can see from the video below that the modern rendition retains just as many zany elements as the original.

Crash Bandicoot 4 will release on October 2, 2020 on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. You can find out more details about the game through its website.
