The massively multiplayer platformer game "Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout" has quickly become a runaway hit. Developed by Mediatonic and published by Devolver Digital, the popular game, which draws inspiration from game shows like "Takeshi's Castle," "It's a Knockout" and "Total Wipeout," allows up to 60 players to compete in mini-games with obstacles in a battle-royale style.
Since its August release, Fall Guys generated USD $185 million in the first month on the PC alone, during which it sold 7 million units on Steam and achieved the status of the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time. With a new season starting up on October 8th, its popularity shows no signs of letting up any time soon.
As anyone who has played the game or watched one of the countless YouTube streamers who do, the players' cute jelly bean-like form and their stumbling gait is part of the game's appeal. Naturally, that appeal has not gone unnoticed in Japan, which has a strong affinity for cute mascot characters.
Gamer girl Miyu (@miyu3872) is one of the many people in Japan who have become a fan, and she also fell for the Fall Guys' stocky bean-like design. But instead of expressing her enthusiasm for the game by drawing fan art, the way we saw earlier this year with illustrator βeniko, she took a different route.
As it turns out, Miyu's mother knows how to make handicrafts, so on September 26th, she asked if she could possibly make a Fall Guy plushie, to which her mother agreed...
After quite a few messages sending instructions and photos, the project came together. Here is Miyu's mother measuring it out. She chose a pink-red soft boa fabric for the body.

Almost exactly a month later, the plush toy was complete. It took about five hours of work all told, as Miyu's mother worked on it in her moments of free time in between her busy schedule.
Finally, on October 24th, Miyu was proud to show off the finished plushie:

Oh wait, looks like he gained his confidence. Hey there little fella! (the real Fall Guys are supposed to be 6 feet tall)

He almost looks like he's getting ready to do a free fall before starting a new game here:

Hey, nice costume. Where'd you get it?

Woah, take it easy there...

Aw...brutal. No kudos for you...

"I'm buzzing so much I can't keep up with the replies, but I'm reading everyone's comments! My mom is overjoyed. Thank you everyone! I really think there's demand for a plushie, so I hope Devolver will make it official merchandise!"

Just taking a quick look at the outpouring of approving comments her pictures elicited makes it clear that this is just begging to made into official merch, and we're willing to bet it's not only Japanese players who would feel the same.
In the meantime, it looks like this Fall Guy plushie has found a happy home.
