With the film adaptation of the runaway hit manga and anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba breaking records at the box office, it seems like demon slayers and demons are showing up everywhere in Japan: In media, in countless product tie-ups (many of which you've seen in grape Japan), and in the daily conversations of Japanese people young and old...
Even Kyushu University's Physics Department had a visit from a demon the other day...
Or rather, one of its students, who delivered a highly entertaining explanation of a physics problem on the blackboard while cosplaying the powerful demon Akaza.
Here is Akaza, AKA Tomoyuki Matsuda 松田朝之, a Kyushu University physics major in his sophomore year, obviously making good on the promise stated on his Twitter profile that he'll "save the world through laughter":
Since the official film trailer showing this scene isn't available for viewing outside of Japan, we won't translate it, but let's just say it's from a climactic scene in the Mugen Train Arc, portrayed in the film, in which Akaza faces off against one of the Hashira before the battle begins, and invites him to become a demon. With perfect comedic timing, he transitions into the physics explanation, then comes back to show Akaza preparing an attack.
The video, recorded and posted by his friend 龍之介 Ryūnosuke, quickly went viral, and now has over 241,000 likes and 60,000 retweets at the time of writing.
Here's a closer look at Matsuda in his Akaza cosplay:

After he gave his performance, he went back to normal student mode...
"Akaza, the way he looked afterward..."
From the reaction of the other students in the classroom, it's safe to say that everyone was thoroughly entertained. In these difficult pandemic times, we can all use a good laugh once in a while, even in physics class...
