Fans of the relaxed brown bear Rilakkuma now have an exclusive place to connect with other fans and gain access to limited merchandise.

The official Rilakkuma Fan Club was launched this month by Rilakkuma’s licenser, San-X. There is an initial admission fee of 1,000 yen and a separate yearly membership fee of 5,000 yen. Fans who opt in for this paid membership receive exclusive access to limited edition goods, a Rilakkuma community site, monthly wallpaper gifts, and other special content.

Upon registration to the club, fans will receive a clear file folder depicting Rilakkuma & friends and a Rilakkuma plushie that comes with an outfit similar to the uniforms of Japanese preschoolers.

The club’s membership card also comes as a handy keychain for members to display their fan status.

For those that choose not to subscribe to a yearly fee, fans can still gain free access to news, Youtube content and an e-mail magazine. You can find more details on the club in Japanese through their official website.
