DESIGN ART TOKYO is an event organized by DESIGNART, a management and planning company in Japan that has as goal sharing the grandeur of all kinds of art and designs.
The design and art festival, DESIGNART TOKYO, first took place in 2017, and ever since, it is held annually, during autumn.
The location is Tokyo, and one by one, exhibitions, designs, various items, and splendid art pieces fill the capital with more things to discover.
During the chill days of October painted in autumn colors, the entire city turns into a museum; and visitors will be able to enjoy a rare sight of Tokyo and the various exhibits around.
You can also purchase items on the spot, and this year, due to the pandemic, many people also have the opportunity to see the innovative designs from Tokyo online.
This year’s theme is「CHANCE! ～かつてないチャンス～」 (chansu ~ katsute nai chansu), meaning "unprecedented chance."
The idea started from the times we are currently facing, that also opened a path to more new ideas and creativity, therefore more chances, more opportunities.
The exhibition includes outdoor furniture of the Taiwanese architect Johnny Chiu produced in collaboration with KOBE LEATHER, including the first luxurious chair based on flower motifs.
Another exhibit to look forward to is the new collection of De Castelli, the Italian metal furniture brand.
Besides the above, there will also be many collaborations and items centered around sustainability and a section of UNDER 30 that features new works of young but talented artists.
The UNDER 30 program is still open for entries until the 20th of May.
After applying, five creative artists selected by the founders will get to participate in this year’s DESIGNART TOKYO.
