Denjiro Yonemura Science Show is a popular live performance that combines education with entertainment. The show’s creator and namesake, Professor Denjiro Yonemura, is a science producer best known for his appearances on Nippon Television’s ‘The Most Useful School in the World’ (世界一受けたい授業).
The live show follows Yonemura’s theme mantra ‘not only learning but also fun, not only fun but also learning’, and delivers the wonder and fun of science through interesting experiments. The exciting experiments keep people of all ages glued to the edge of their seat, and science kits sold at the venue will keep the fun going even after going home.
After completing his degree at Tokyo Gakugei University’s Department of Science Education, Yonemura began his career as a metropolitan high school teacher and a visiting school lecturer. In 1996 he became independent and set himself the goal to spread the joy of science widely. In 1998 he first appeared on NHK’s ‘Am I Japan’s Galileo?!’, before going on to establish his show ‘Yonemura Denjiro Science Production’.
Currently Yonemura is active as a science producer across a wide range of fields and media, such as taking part in the planning and development of science experiments, overseeing the planning, supervision and appearances of science shows as well as holding experiment classrooms and workshops at a variety of locations.
