Japan’s BT21 Cafes Return for 2020 with Revamped ‘Spring Party’ and ‘Baby BT21’ Menu
BT21, the gang of characters created by messaging app LINE and K-pop group BTS, have proved their popularity in Japan with plenty of successful pop-up cafes. But if you can’t make it to one of these events, BT21 enthusiasts can now get character themed food at a local convenience store.
Family Mart are stocking BT21 strawberry tarts, with super cute designs featuring the whole crew. The illustrations are in the ‘BT21 Baby’ style for extra adorableness.
Koya, RJ, Shooky, Mang, Chimmy, Tata, and Cooky all star in one treat each, and the eighth design features them all together on one tart.
The illustrations aren’t on the tarts themselves, but on a plastic film on top, so it can be removed and kept, if you want to collect them all.
The packaging is also suitably adorable, with character illustrations and pastel colours.
From 24th August 2021, they appeared in branches of Family Mart all over Japan. Each one costs 248 yen, which is much more affordable than a trip to a themed cafe! But if you’re interested in checking out a BT21 cafe in Japan, the latest iteration is still running in several major cities.
