This winter, I had the opportunity to try out some of the prettiest models of earrings now on sale at Grape Shop. I got four mini boxes, each including one pair of colorful earrings in a different design, two for pierced ears, and two hinge clip-on earrings.

I have my ears pierced, but I always wanted to try out hinge clip-on earrings; therefore, I am happy I got a chance to do so.

The earrings I tried came in four different designs:
What is Origami?

Origami (折り紙) comes from the verb "to fold" (折る oru) and paper (紙 kami) and refers to the traditional art of Japanese paper folding. It represents a big part of the Japanese culture, and the practice of this craft dates way back to the Edo Period.
Many of you might probably be familiar with the crane origami or the paper lotus flower, as these are probably some of the classic models that everyone starts with at the beginning.

Since this craft is such a big part of the Japanese culture, origami designers started making original jewelry using this unique paper folding art. The designers allowed us to incorporate this beautiful part of Japan into our daily outfits and bring a bit of color and tradition to our day-to-day lives.
After trying out the earrings, I thought that each would look incredibly cute paired with a kimono or yukata in summer. All had red shades in their color palette, and it makes it easier to incorporate them in your outfits regardless of the season.
The beautiful and vibrant colors would look perfect in spring when everything gets back to life, but also in summer because of the summer-ish patterns that fit the yukata and Japanese festivals well.
Autumn is also known for the beautiful maple leaves in Japan and the crimson autumn foliage; therefore, it matches the color of the earrings perfectly!

In winter, the glass dome earrings look extremely cute paired with a red scarf or a white outfit- a kimono would also make a perfect choice!
When I tried out the earrings and walked around the city while having them on, my mood was instantly uplifted, and I remember that I was smiling all day long. I also took a few nice shots and had lots of fun picking out suitable outfits.
I got them during the cold season, so I wanted to try out a traditional photo session and pair them with a kimono.
Unfortunately, I don’t possess one (for now!), so it will have to wait until next time. However, I am looking forward to the yukata season!
In my opinion, origami jewelry keeps the tradition alive, and it allows more people to find out about Japanese culture and its beautiful crafts.
They're a must if you are a fan of Japan and adorable accessories!
In total, there are six varieties of earrings made by ORIGAMIART and now available at Grape Shop.
