If you own a dog, one of the most basic tricks you've likely taught them is asking them to "give me your paw" and get them to reach out and place their paw in your hand as if to shake hands. While that may seem beginner level, it can be a bit more challenging when performed with cats, who aren't always the most cooperative.

Japanese Twitter user Mamity (@mamity39) recently tried to get their cat, Bob-kun to learn the trick. As you can imagine, not being quite used to the idea of offering up his paw, Bob-kun was a bit puzzled by having a human palm in his face.

Still, to the best of his ability, Bob-kun tried to humor his human friend, but not with the responding gesture Mamity had in mind.

"Bob: 'Give me your hand...? Oh, like this.'"

So close! As you can see, Bob-kun went for the underhanded approach, and looks almost as if he's trying to support his owner's hand from falling, or even attempting a palm-reading.

It's often said that we humans are the actual servants in households with cats, so it's possible that Bob-kun's interpretation of the trick is going to be the norm for Mamity going forward.
