Valentine’s Day and White Day may be behind us, but we’re not done with the chocolate season just yet with Easter hot on our heels.
Surprisingly, when it comes down to the largest chocolate holiday of the year, it seems as though Japan just isn’t that into it – I like to write this off as most people have eaten their fill during the aforementioned holidays – with little-to-no mention of the spring event being made.
However, when Japan does get involved, the resulting products almost always make up for the lack of holiday enthusiasm.
Leading the way in Easter chocolate gourmet goodness, is none other than the luxurious patisseries, boutiques and cafes set up by the late legendary gastronomic connoisseur Joël Robuchon.
This April the company is bringing back their always-popular Red Easter Egg, and along with it, they’ve unveiled an eye-catching egg inspired by this year’s zodiac animal.
Taking inspiration from this year’s zodiac animal, this easter egg from Joël Robuchon comes with an appearance that is sure to grab anyone’s attention. The egg is made from white chocolate, and features a coating of yellow gradation and streaks of dark chocolate that resemble the colouring of a tiger’s fur.
The egg sits on a crispy black chocolate base, and also features an adorable tail sculpted from chocolate.
In addition, Joël Robuchon will also be bringing back their Red Easter egg, which remains popular year after year.
Like the Zodiac Tiger Easter Egg, the classic Red Easter Egg is also made from white chocolate. Representing the arrival of Spring, this easter egg is coated in red-coloured white chocolate glazing and topped with delicate white flowers made from sugar.
Both the Zodiac Tiger Easter Egg and the Red Easter Egg contain colourful crunchy chocolate bonbons that compliment the smooth texture of the chocolate egg’s shell.
