Electronic traffic signs provide information on road conditions, such as traffic congestion and road closures, so that many people can travel comfortably and safely.

In Japan, some of these signs have two lights at the top, one orange and one red to indicate the level of traffic congestion.

However, when Twitter user かこてつ Kakotetsu (@Ktetsu_117) saw an electronic traffic sign on a drive recently, they felt something was odd about it.

"Hey, what's that? That's an oddly colored light bulb."

They noticed what looked like a white light in the middle of the orange and red lights on the sign.

As it turns out, it wasn't a white light bulb... but rather an impressively-sized beehive!

In addition to being positioned in the middle of the two lamps, the size of the hive was also similar, creating quite a miraculous coincidence.

It's no wonder that Kakotetsu mistook it for a light of an unusual color.

The bees weren't the only ones buzzing about this sign, as the unusual sight became something of a topic on Twitter. The surprising images elicited comments such as:

  • "It's truly astonishing. The position of the nest is high up, it's right in the middle, and the size is similar (to the other lights)!"
  • "The position of the nest is perfect, almost as if it was intentional."
  • "The fact that the bees chose this location is amazing. What a miraculous coincidence."

Although beehives are often considered nuissances when they appear in such situations, in this case, many people felt like praising the bees!
