Japanese Twitter user Beta (@onecuprain) got a glimpse of that kind of public shaming--only it wasn't from city officials, but rather some neighbors with a sense of humor. When passing by the garbage collection spot of their apartment complex, Beta noticed that a thoughtful resident had left a funny reminder on someone's mistaken trash bag:
The bag has been tagged with an illustration of singer Masayuki Suzuki, and a play on the lyrics to his song "Chigau, Sou janai" ("Nope, that's not it"), referencing the neighbor's mistake of leaving out plastic garbage on the wrong day. It reads "Nope, it's not today. Plastic garbage is on Tuesday." The lyrics have become somewhat of an online meme in Japan when informing someone that they are incorrect.
