Located in Nagano Prefecture, Mishakaike Pond served as the model for the Japanese artist Kaii Higashiyama's famous work "Vibrant Green." Made popular once again by its use as a scenic setting for Japanese television commercials (its breathtaking landscape is perfect for showing off state of the art monitor technology), the beautiful pond was selected in 2010 by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries as one of "Japan's 100 Best Reservoirs."
The reflection of all kinds of trees on the water's surface is quite the beautiful spectacle. Thriving in green as far as the eye can see, the area appears to be shrouded in a foresty mystique.
Mishakaike Pond is truly a place where one can enjoy the beauty of each of the four seasons. A variety of nature's expressions can be seen reflected on the water's surface, depending on the season.
Different times of day and weather allow for visitors to experience constantly changing and unique atmospheres and scenery, making it a place that offers a picturesque landscape you won't ever tire of.
This is definitely a place we'd all like to visit someday!
