Expressing The Trapped Innocence: This Artist’s Wire-Frame Sculpture Left Me Pondering…

Nervada's Burning Man Festival is well-known for bringing together amazing art from all kinds of genres.

What has caught many people's attention was a work by Ukrainian sculptor Alexander Milov, called "Love":

On the festival's website, Milov wrote:

It demonstrates a conflict between a man and a woman as well as the outer and inner expression of human nature. Their inner selves are executed in the form of transparent children, who are holding out their hands through the grating. As it’s getting dark (night falls) the children chart to shine. This shining is a symbol of purity and sincerity that brings people together and gives a chance of making up when the dark time arrives.

When I saw this work, I was instantly struck by it. And it made me think why we lose all our innocence and sincerity of our childhood as we grow up? I think this conflict is something that everyone faces everyday, and I personally wish that we can break out of that wired cage we call adult.
