Floresta is a Japanese chain which specialises in organic doughnuts. The shop originally started in Nara and spread throughout Kansai, and even further to the whole of Japan thanks to their popularity. Now they have branches throughout the country and they're known for their adorable, animal-shaped doughnuts.
But just when we thought their creature creations couldn’t get any cuter, they teamed up with one of the leading companies in kawaii, Sanrio, on some of the cutest seasonal doughnuts ever. The creators of Hello Kitty and Gudetama have lent the likeness of several of their characters to the company’s signature organic doughnuts.
The latest holiday they’re taking on is Valentine’s Day. The characters chosen for these amorous treats is Pompompurin, the pudding-like dog, and his feline friend Muffin. It’s the golden retrievers 25th anniversary so he’s the perfect choice for this year’s offering.
The lineup will be appearing in two parts. From 1st February to 7th, the duo will be starring in their own full size doughnut complete with romantic chocolate hearts and dried strawberry sprinkles on a strawberry flavoured white chocolate base. Each one will set you back 450 yen plus tax.
Then from 8th February to 14th, there’s adorable mini-size, round doughnuts in a cup. Along with one shaped like Pompompurin, there’s also an appearance from another character, Macaroon. These two super cute treats come with some colourful doughnuts.
These sweet creations will only be available in certain branches of Floresta, check out their website for a full list of shops where the doughnuts can be bought!
