When it comes to Mount Fuji, there's no such thing as too many photos, especially when they're taken by talented photographers. Japan's tallest and most revered of all mountains has inspired some of Japan's most famous artworks. It shows an astonishing variety of expressions depending on the season, weather, time of day, and, of course, the distance and angle you look at it.
Recently, our readers may recall we introduced the more ominous and intimidating side of Mount Fuji, a quality which becomes more pronounced when taken at close range when the mountain seems to loom over you, for example, in the city of Fujiyoshida.
However, in the case of a photo recently posted by photographer Taitan (@taitan21), we see Mount Fuji beaming proudly with a fresh coat of snow, rising above a blanket of clouds on a stunningly bright and crisp winter morning:

It almost looks like the majestic mountain is protecting the city beneath it.
Taitan loves Fuji City in Shizuoka Prefecture, where he was born and raised, and shares photos and stories about the area.
His gorgeous photo elicited comments such as:
What's clear is that Taitan's love for his hometown beams just as proudly as Mount Fuji in his photo.
