Halloween hasn’t even passed yet, and it seems Starbucks Japan is already switching into holiday mode by announcing a Christmassy beverage to be released next week.

Starbucks Japan’s various seasonal Frappuccinos and hot beverages are legendary, thanks to their creative takes on different celebrations. The first drink lineup for the holiday season this year is inspired by chocolate covered strawberries. Strawberries are seen as a summer specialty in some countries, but in Japan they have become associated with holiday festivities, as they are often found in popular Japanese Christmas cakes. According to Starbucks' announcement, this theme is inspired by chocolate covered strawberries that you can buy in German holiday markets.

Two drinks are making an appearance. Firstly, the ‘Chocolate Strawberry Festive Frappuccino’ is made with a chocolate Frappuccino base and mixed with sauce made from strawberry juice. The whipped cream peak is sprinkled with Couverture chocolate and real strawberry pieces.

But if you’re looking for a hot option for the chilly winter days, there’s also a ‘Chocolate Strawberry Festive Mocha’ on the cards. Strawberry flavoured sauce is mixed into steamed milk and espresso. The whipped cream topping is also decorated with Couverture chocolate and strawberry pieces.

The drink will be arriving to welcome the holiday season from 1st November 2021, but it will only be around until 23rd November, implying there are more holiday treats to come from Starbucks Japan this year!
