If you’ve ever passed through Tokyo, whether it be for a vacation, business trip or just as a quick stop on the highway, the chances are you’ve come across Tokyo Banana.
Despite being only a few inches in length, Tokyo Banana is one titan of a souvenir, claiming the title as the number one gift to pick up in the capital and loved by individuals across the country.
Though the original sponge cakes are more than enough to satisfy any sweet tooth, we often see fresh new variations as Tokyo Banana often teams up with other brands in quirky collaborations, such as the ever-popular Pokemon series or the Doraemon collection.
Another notable collaboration is the Disney SWEETS COLLECTION by Tokyo Banana. This particular collaboration even has a permanent store dedicated to selling the limited edition products at JR Tokyo Station.
In the latest, the store is releasing a new “retro” collection featuring nostalgic pop-art designs.
The collection consists of two different colourful box designs, each with 12 individually packaged Mickey & Friends Chocolate Tokyo Banana Cookie Sandwiches.
The retro-inspired boxes feature vibrant eye-catching prints of Mickey & Minnie and Mickey & Friends.
Crisp and lightly baked Langue de Chat cookies sandwich an oversized cut of smooth, delicious banana milkshake-flavoured chocolate. Within a single bite, the biscuit crumbles and gives way to the milky textured chocolate that melts in the mouth.
The limited edition boxes will be available to pick up at the permanent JR Tokyo Station store from the 9th of March 2022.
In addition, those who order online may be the lucky receiver of a limited edition dessert plate set, of which there are four designs to collect. (These plates are limited in number, so if you would like to be included alongside the lucky giftees it’s best to place an order ASAP.)
Orders can be made via the official online store from the 2nd of March until all stocks are sold out.
1 box, includes 2 dessert plates: 2,500 yen (tax included)
2 boxes, includes all 4 dessert plates: 5,000 yen (tax included)
