Studio Ghibli's World Can Be Found in Tokyo
Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory is a quaint little building, surrounded by more greenery than is usual for Tokyo. It’s hidden away, just a few minutes walk from Setagaya Daita station on the Odakyu trainline.

Despite being out of the way, this diminutive bakery-cafe is super popular. There was already a line of people as soon as they opened at 10.30 on a weekday morning.

Totoro Cream Puffs
The reason for their popularity isn’t just the taste, but the fact that each cream puff is perfectly crafted into an adorable Totoro, the titular character of Studio Ghibli’s beloved animation, My Neighbour Totoro.

The Totoros have a coloured leaf, hat or flower which tells you which flavour cream is hidden inside. At the moment custard cream, strawberry, chocolate and the limited time only caramel banana are available.

Some flavours are only made during certain seasons, like peach and matcha in the summer.

Ghibli Souvenirs from the Bakery
The bakery also has a selection of Studio Ghibli inspired biscuits which make super cute presents.
The cafe upstairs serves main meals as well as the cream puffs and there’s also an outside eating area. But keep in mind, it’s very small and very popular.
