Louis Vuitton has teamed up with the legendary avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama to bring her unique vision to the brand's Omotesando store in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward. The collaboration, which celebrates 10 years since their first partnership, features a mesmerizing humanoid robot based on Kusama herself.
The robot, which was previously displayed at Louis Vuitton's stores in Paris, New York City, and London, going viral on social media, has made a triumphant return to her "home country" with an appearance in the Omotesando store's window display.
Standing over 6 feet tall, the robot holds a paintbrush in its right hand and creates dots in a mesmerizing motion, while its eyes and lips move and it even smiles at passersby. The robot's movements are triggered by sensors, making it even more realistic. This robotic Yayoi Kusama truly dips into the uncanny valley.
If you're also interested in shopping at Louis Vuitton, you'll find the full "Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama" collection, including a range of clothing, shoes, accessories, and leather goods, all featuring Kusama's signature polka dots and other iconic motifs. Don't miss out on the chance to see this one-of-a-kind display and shop the collection.
