What makes this set so special is that they aren't simply plates and dishes with Gundam designs on them. These pieces are classified as highly valued Kutani-yaki (Kutani ware), a style of Japanese porcelain, believed to have originated in the mid 1600's and renowned for its layers of colors and bold designs.
This Premium Bandai series celebrates the history of Mobile Suit Gundam through traditional Japanese art, and features plates, rice bowls, cups, and even chopstick-stands in a craft passed down throughout the ages. If you look closely, you can see suits such as the Zaku and others posing gracefully and battling, and the ever-so-cool Char Aznable as well. The full set can be seen at Premium Bandai. Let's take a look!
