You can always count on popular Japanese fashion retailer UNIQLO to put forth collaborative lineups that please anime and video game fans, as seen with their recently released Street Fighter series of shirts. This time, UNIQLO's latest UT T-shirt collaborative taps into the beautiful artwork of Makoto Shinkai, director of the record-breaking anime "Your Name" and the upcoming much anticipated "Weathering with You".
According to a UNIQLO press release, a "color concept" in the two flagship shirts of the lineup was the use of the sky, an integral image in both movies--with the "Weathering with You" shirt reflecting daytime, and "Your Name" entry reflecting sunset. While the "Weathering with You" shirts understandably do not dive too deeply into any known plot points, the "Your Name" shirts feature elements essential to the story, including the kumihimo red braid, and a note asking "Who are you?"
