While Pikachu was pretty much the king of the Pokemon world already, the introduction of augmented reality game and global phenomenon Pokemon Go has extended his reach beyond what anyone could have expected. In Japan, however, where Pokemon Go has yet to launch (at the time of writing), Pikachu is making headlines thanks to the recent news that the flagship Pokemon is getting an official character song. The song is titled "Pikachu's Song" and is an entry in a first-ever "character song" project for the popular Pokemon XY&Z anime. Character songs in Japan are typically in-character theme songs sung by the voice actor of the character. In that case this would be Ootani Ikue, the longstanding and famous voice of Pikachu. Sounds great! The only problem? Pikachu can only really say, and sing, his own name--resulting in these masterpiece lyrics, which have been revealed ahead of the actual song which will first play on 8/4:
We're sure that one will never leave your head.
