"Are they really only made from 1 piece of paper?" This might be the response many people will have after seeing these intricate works of paper art. Souma is a self-taught “Kirie” (paper cutting) artist who has been cutting paper since she was very little. Every segment of her artwork is clean and connected, with no trace of even the finest fold lines on their surfaces. This talented artist has overturned traditional Kirie concepts by folding them into 3D pieces. She explains:
"I tend not to be overly picky about making it pretty; I think a more individualistic style makes it more interesting. Technique wise, strong passion will naturally improve a person’s skill."
