The Alley, a Taiwanese bubble tea chain, has been a popular staple since its signature deer insignia landed in Tokyo a couple of years ago. While the boba boom rages on, you can usually find queues out the door of a weekend at this trendy beverage purveyor.
It’s a hot brand to collaborate with, and this fact hasn’t been lost on LINE FRIENDS, the character goods arm of the the most popular messaging app in Japan. The boba beverage and character collab will start this month.
The super cute cups will feature a Sally and Brown design with a bubble tea theme, and The Alley’s catchy ‘It’s Time for Tea’ slogan.
And there's no time to be bored of the special beverages since there will be a new one released every month.
First up is an orange smoothie (650 yen without tax) which is apparently Sally's choice, available from 11th November to 10th December. Then Sally's second drink takes over, the Deerioca Pumpkin Milk, in reference to the antlered mascot of The Alley. From 13th January until 9th February, Brown the bear takes over with his Pumpkin Hojicha Tea Latte.
For LINE enthusiasts, there will be pop up stores within five Alley branches all over Japan, giving each store a cute LINE FRIENDS themed makeover. These branches will be Shibuya Dogenzaka, Omotesando, Nakameguro, Kobe Sannomiya, and Fukuoka Tenjin.
If bubble tea and cute characters is a match made in boba heaven for you, take a look at The Alley's website for a full menu and store list!
