Interview with Violence Tomoko, creator of the manga “A Love Story in Virtual Reality”
If you have a cat or dog, you know they’re an endless source of amazement. You can find a never-ending stream of cat and dog videos online documenting their sometimes cute, sometimes bizarre behavior.
Japanese manga artist Hidekichi Matsumoto is known for works like さばげぶっ (Survival Game Club!) and 猫色保健室 (Cat Colored Infirmary). Her most recent series 犬と猫とどっちも飼ってると毎日たのしい (Every Day is Fun Raising Both a Cat and Dog), which she posts on Twitter for everyone’s enjoyment, is so popular that an anime adaptation was announced in December 2019.
She captures the peculiar personalities of his pets. The stories star her sweetly innocent dog and her “hard on the outside soft on the inside” cat.
Just like people’s moods rise and fall, our pets also have their own emotional ups and downs. Matsumoto brings this image to life in the following manga panels which she introduced on Twitter with the message: テンションのアップダウンが毎日たのしい (With all their ups and downs, every day is fun):
