Many fans of Makoto Shinkai's latest hit film "Weathering with You" have been patiently waiting for May 27th, when the gorgeous book dedicated to the art backgrounds released by Kadokawa Corporation, finally hits bookshelves.

Information on the book, including samples of some of the 240 beautifully detailed, frame-worthy prints, was released earlier this month but today, details were also announced on the special gifts which will come with the first-edition print.

Description

This handsome volume contains 240 art backgrounds which served as the stage of the story of the highly-acclaimed film. You can appreciate the city of Tokyo as it changes appearance depending on the weather, as well as the breathtakingly beautiful world of the sky and the clouds high above it. It also includes interviews with Makoto Shinkai and commentary on the setting of the art backgrounds by Hiroshi Takiguchi.

The art backgrounds are divided into 14 categories such as "Tokyo in the sun", "Tokyo in the rain", "Abandoned building", "Haruna's apartment," etc. Each background print also includes comments by the art staff.
