Beeslow Co. is a company that specialises in producing buckwheat honey. Labelled as Black Honey for it’s dark colour, Beeslow’s buckwheat honey is rich in vitamins and is higher in antioxidants than sweeter honey varieties.
This summer, Beeslow has incorporated their black honey into a special non-alcoholic black honey mojito. The resulting drink is refreshing, flavourful and sweet – the perfect cool-me-down for Japan’s late summer humidity.
Black Honey Mojito
A speciality summer drink, the Black Honey Mojito comes in two flavours: Orange and Lemon.
With light carbonation and the distinctive flavour of black honey mixed with citrus fruits, ginger and fresh mint, this drink is the ideal beverage for a hot and humid summer day.
Price: 850 yen
The drinks utilise herbs collected from natural herb cultivating company HERBSTAND. HERBSTAND uses only mineral-rich water, compost and mulch to grow their herbs, making them of the highest nutrient standard. Located on the northern foot of Mount Fuji, at an altitude of 800 metres, HERBSTAND is made up of a group of young farmers who not only produce and sell herbs, but also come up with special herbal recipes and organise special farm tours and online agriculture workshops.
Keeping true to their motto; “friendly to bees = friendly to the environment = friendly to people”, Beeslow is committed to making sustainable choices and have chosen to use the following ingredients for their new Black Honey Mojito:
– Naturally Grown Mint
– Pesticide-free lemon
– Organic orange
– Naturally grown ginger
– Biodegradable plastic cup
– Paper straw
Located in the Koto area of Tokyo, Beeslow recommends exploring the museums and gardens of Kiyosumi Shirakawa this summer with a refreshing and healthy Black Honey Mojito.
