犬と猫どっちも飼ってると、レスキューされて毎日たのしい (When you have both a dog and cat, getting rescued every day is fun)
In today’s chapter, Matsumoto shares which of her pets is more likely to come to her rescue.
Regardless of whether you are a pet owner or not, you probably just thought to yourself that the answer is definitely her dog. Maybe you’re right...but let’s find out shall we?

Matsumoto was watching a TV program about dogs coming to their owner’s rescue, but she decided to investigate on her own.
She pretended a cardboard box was attacking her and although her dog saw through the act, he still joined Hidekiccan to have some fun.
Although inconclusive, Matsumoto remembered all the times her dog worried about her when she was sick or having a rough time. She concludes her dog would come to her aid after all.
Would a Cat Save its Owner?
The next strip illustrates how her cat behaves in times of trouble.

Like most of us, Hidekichi may be a bit prejudiced against cats and assumed she’d be hung out to dry in her time of need.
BUT...
There are always exceptions.
Such as when the dog got shut out of the room and was barking to be let in.
Matsumoto’s cat decided to come to the rescue...but maybe we should question the motives here, because it seems to really just be at the dog’s expense.
Then again, try seeing the world from a cat’s perspective. It’s not unfair to consider dogs to be big, loud, slobbering beasts who have no understanding of peace and quiet.
So perhaps keeping the dog out of the living room really was an act of goodwill toward Matsumoto.
