For many people in Japan, March is graduation season. However, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, many students have been unable to see their friends as graduation ceremonies were canceled or held online. And yet, graduating or entering a new school or company is the perfect occasion to celebrate.
But even if you're not a student or entering a new company, the warmer weather and cherry blossoms now blooming in the Kanto area are a great occasion to get out and have some fun and leisure. Yokohama has many attractions and sakura viewing spots, making it a good destination for that purpose.
Concern over the pandemic may give you second thoughts about traveling, but thanks to a special limited-time plan offered by the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, you can take a mini-vacation in Yokohama in a safe environment and participate in fun and unique activities that allow you to maintain social distance.
Experience Minato Mirai in a Hakama! Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu's Limited Time Plan
Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, located in the area overlooking Minato Mirai in Yokohama's Nishi Ward, will be offering their 横濱 春さんぽ Yokohama haru sanpo ("Yokohama Spring Promenade") accommodation plan from March 1st to April 30th, limited to five rooms per day.

As a bonus, you can rent a traditional hakama for 30 minutes, try your hand at making a photo snowdome, and get a one-day pass for the Minatomirai Line which you can use to explore the area at leisure!
Examples of how to use the plan
(1) Change into your favorite hakama at the Yokohama Haikara Kimono Kan's Osanbashi branch, and take a commemorative photo on the Osanbashi Bridge, one of Yokohama's most famous photo spots, with Minato Mirai in the background.
(2) You can take home a handmade snowdome with a photo of you (and others in your party) wearing a hakama.
(3) Use the Minato Mirai Line one-day pass to take a stroll along the streets, where cherry blossoms and other spring flowers bloom. Enjoy taking commemorative photos.
In addition, although it's an extra paid option, you can enjoy their popular breakfast buffet or the "Ohanami Bento" lunch at the hotel's Japanese restaurant "Oshima."
How about making memories in Yokohama with friends or loved ones?
