Pokemon manhole covers started as a campaign to encourage more tourism to lesser-known areas of Japan. Now they can be found in all kinds of places, including tourist hot spots like Kyoto and central Tokyo. Each ‘Pokefuta’ (or Poke Lids in English) is an original, one-of-a-kind design, so you have to travel to that particular location to see it.

These awesome designs are spread all over Japan, and with the latest Poke Lids newly installed in Hyogo prefecture, they now number at 201 designs.

These new installations are the first Pokemon manhole covers to come to Hyogo, and they’ve landed in Awaji city to show off some of the sights.

As a legendary Pokemon, Lugia is the perfect candidate to be part of this momentous addition to the Pokefuta lineup. This Pokefuta can be found on the coast, as hinted by the nautical design.

There’s another design starring Bayleef and Aromatisse which can be found in a park, so the design shows them frolicking in some foliage. The last one stars Cloyster and Gastrodon enjoying the water by a bridge.
