Have you ever wondered what it would be like to catch a real Pokémon?
Well, the new forest theme park, Pokémon WONDER, that opened in July in the suburbs of Tokyo, is now offering you the opportunity to start your real-life Pokémon adventure!
When entering the forest, you will be greeted by Professor Creso (クレソ博士 Kureso Hakase) and everyone’s beloved character, Pikachu.
They will give you a short briefing and some clues that will lead you to the hidden Pokémon. The adventurers will need to look for trails and make sure not to miss any pocket monsters.
What is unique about the whole experience is that you start your adventure as a future Pokémon Master outdoors, in a vast forest located deep inside Yomiuriland. The forest is around 4,500 m2 and has been left untouched for over 20 years.
The main idea behind this new nature theme park started from immersing yourself in nature and children catching insects during summer. Such a fun activity can be enjoyed not only by children and fans but also by adults. It also allows you to interact with other participants while exploring the surroundings, finding clues, and discovering the mysteries and wonders of nature.
One point to keep in mind during the Pokémon quest is that the pocket monsters are camouflaged and blend in very well with nature, so you need to pay attention to all the details.
Pokémon Wonder has two courses: the ancient stone wall (古代の石垣 kodai no ishigaki) and the whispering bamboo groove (ささやきの竹林 sasayaki no chikurin).
Here are a few of the Pokémons hidden in the forest:
Omanyte
Oddish
Metapod
Rowlet
If you read the clues carefully, you’ll get to discover approximately 50 types of Pokémon in the two courses!
