We all know that dog sizes vary wildly depending on breed, from the tiniest Chihuahua to the largest Irish wolf hound. Even so, we still get a shock every time we see the most extreme ends of this spectrum, and this occurred very recently on the Japanese side of Twitter thanks to just two photos.

The photo set was posted by @chouchou_the_g, the owner of a Great Pyrenees called ChouChou.

Standing up on her hind legs, the fluffy ChouChou seems to tower over her owner.

This alone is enough proof to call her an impressively large dog, but looking at the Twitter caption reveals another twist. She is just 6 months old!

ChouChou is still just a puppy. Female Great Pyrenees can weigh over 40 kg when fully grown, and she looks like she is well on her way to achieving that size. According to the owners, they are surprised by her growth on a day to day basis.

The puppy’s size relative to her age was so shocking that the post gained over 23 thousand retweets and 138 thousand likes.
