7-Eleven Japan has quite the impressive selection of sandwiches, but we recently had our eyes caught by this delicious looking sweets-sandwich called the Noukou (Rich) chocolate sandwich, which serves up whipped cream and chocolate between chocolate flavored bread slices!
We’ve seen many different types of sweet sandwiches in convenience stores, but those are mostly fruit and whipped cream sandwiches--not a chocolate one like this.
Needless to say, we were so intrigued by this item we had to try it out ourselves!
As you can see, “Noukou Chocolate Sandwich” contains two layers of cream inside; whipped cream and chocolate mousse, in between the soft sandwich bread.
There are also many chunky chocolate chips inside the cream filling.
There was a surprisingly generous serving of cream filled all the way to the center of the sandwich.

As opposed to standard fruit dessert sandwiches, this chocolate one appears rather a proper dessert with the soft and moist bread outside, and rich and abundant cream inside.
The crunchy chocolate chip adds a nice texture to it, too.
There are also chopped up almonds inside the cream. You could really taste the nutty flavor of the almonds.
For a convenience store sandwich, the quality was incredible! Sweets fans looking for a fluffy filled treat may want to swing by the sandwich section of 7-Eleven in Japan
