It's amazing how some animals's expressions can look so human-like. Although we know that animals express themselves differently, sometimes their facial expression is so convincing, we just have to believe they're actually feeling that emotion.
For example, this popular video of a kitten asleep on someone’s lap shows quite possibly the happiest face you could ever see on an animal. Japanese Twitter user @nekokamasu owns several cats, and last year he started fostering three rescue cat siblings from Gunma prefecture. The cat featured in this adorable clip is one of those three, a kitty called Touma.
Not only is his mouth curled up into a content smile, but his eyes are closed in half moons, making it look like he’s smiling with his whole face. Some commenters even pointed out that his paws are up in the air like he’s cheering.
His raised paws also drew comparisons to a maneki neko, a beckoning cat figure. Other commenters claimed that just looking at the charming video caused them to smile too.
If you want to see more of Touma, the smiliest feline, there’s even a YouTube video of him and his other siblings when they were first rescued as tiny kittens.
