Kitties In Japan Get Caught Up In The Cutest And Clumsiest Game Of Cat And Mous—err, Cat!
With their sharp teeth and sometimes scary looks, the moray eel may be the victim of a negative image problem, sometimes being referred to as "the gangsters of the sea" in Japan. But even if it seems a bit surprising, they have their cute moments just like any other animal.
Japanese Twitter user Rerere (@chima2chan) recently shared a video that may be the ultimate mind-changer for those afraid of the animal and a moment of appreciation for eel appeal.
Rerere, who lives with a small Tidepool snake moray, posted the video with the caption "A moray eel's yawn is too cute so I'd like you watch this tens of thousands of times." As you can see, their wish is being granted and for good reason--it's absolutely adorable!
The little eel gives such a big and animated yawn that you can't help but feel sleepy. Many on Twitter found themselves smitten with the big adorable yawn, especially the satisfied lip smacking the eel makes once it's finished. Although, as it turns out, eels open their mouths wide to let water in and remove dirt from their gills like this routinely, and it probably isn't actually expressing sleepiness.
But that doesn't make it any less cute!
