Pigeons. They're one of the ubiquitous birds in the world, especially in urban areas.
Although there are many kinds of pigeons and their plumage, sometimes exhibiting a subtle blend of colors, might be considered aesthetically pleasing by some, when compared to the likes of toucans, parrots, or peacocks, the common city pigeon is more likely to be described as "drab" than "beautiful."
However, one photo recently snapped in Japan has gone viral since it showed that pigeons, too, can reveal a beautiful side if the conditions are right.

"I was able to take a picture of a pigeon startled by a crow that suddenly flew nearby"
Crows are known to attack and eat pigeons, so it's only natural that a pigeon would be startled by a crow's sudden appearance.
Perhaps the pigeon was trying to intimidate the crow by making its body look bigger, or perhaps it was just preparing itself to quickly fly away.
No matter the reason, the way it spread out its tail feathers suddenly created a sense of artistic beauty and gave it an appearance that was quite different from the one people are familiar with.
