Using a brush to untangle fur and get rid of dirt from your dog’s coat is just one of the necessary habits for looking after a pet properly. Although it is necessary, that doesn’t mean that the dog sees it that way, and there’s plenty of pups who would prefer to let their fur tangle away, rather than face the horror of brushing.

As much as we hate to do anything that may upset our dogs, it’s still part of being a responsible owner. But this can result in some hilarious reactions from our canine friends, such as this set of photos starring a Pomeranian called Ruan. Since Ruan normally hates being brushed so much, the owner tried out using a tangle teaser brush, because it doesn’t pull the hair and cause pain.

The owner compares the pics to a four-panel manga in which Ruan’s expressions tell a whole story.

Although Ruan was freaked out in the first picture, you can see his confusion when he realises that it’s not the brush he’s used to.

Lastly, he has a hilarious expression of relief as he starts to enjoy being brushed.
