Japanese Twitter user ネコランド Nekoland (@NEKOLAND13) who now lives with three cats, recently welcomed a new addition to their family, a kitten named Norman.

Norman is less than 4 months old, but he's already showing a lot of promise. Could he have a future in acting?

"A hunched back? What's that?"

Although it's not uncommon to see a cat standing on its hind legs like a human, the way young Norman here is standing with his legs astride, and his back completely straight as if it were the most natural thing in the world makes him look like he could be one of the computer-generated characters appearing somewhere in the Puss in Boots animated film franchise (before wardrobe fitting). His intent gaze and the position of his paws also make it look like he could be in the middle of auditioning for a dramatic scene.

The viral post has garnered over 119,000 likes at the time of writing and has elicited numerous comments, such as:

  • "I didn't know cats could stand so straight!"
  • "If you look closely, aren't his arms crossed as well? Was he a martial artist in his former life?"
  • "It looks like he's saying: 'If you want to pass through here, give me a treat!'"
  • "Actually, I think there's a human inside..."
