Riding a train through the Japanese countryside can provide for some spectacular views as you whip by the scenery outside, but as good as the views are from the window, it can be easy to forget just how gorgeous that scenery can be when taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture.
DropFrame (@DropFrame108), a Japanese train enthusiast who photographs railroad scenery, wowed people with a shot they shared of the easternmost railroad in Japan, the Nemuro Hanasaki Line, running from Nemuro City to Kushiro City in Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island.
When DropFrame shared the photo to Twitter, they were met with a flood of comments such as "I had no idea a place like this existed in Japan" and "it looks like the train travels through a fantasy world."
It's certainly a breathtaking shot!

The photo was taken in Bekanbeushi Marsh, a marshy area between Chanai Station and Atsugishi Station on the Hanasaki Line of the Nemuro Main Line. DropFrame and others commented that they were surprised and impressed that a train runs through the marshland, which is overgrown with reeds and sedges. The beautiful natural scenery had many likening the idea of riding it to boarding the train featured in Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away.
It definitely looks like the kind of train where you could run into No Face or Chihiro!
