Even if you live with them for a long time, cats have a way of surprising their owners--sometimes at their least photogenic moments.

Shioyama (@mt_fujimaru) experienced that same type of surprise when they were stunned by their beloved housecat striking a very unusual pose. The cat, already a bit of a big boy, looked so imposing that many online have dubbed him the sumo kitty.

Shioyama accurately shared the photos calling their cat "a mysterious creature". The bizarre stance combined with the cat's round shape has many online comparing the feline to a sumo wrestler's preparation stance before a match. It certainly looks like none of the other cats on the block would pick a fight with him!
